MAMAIA, Romania – In a statement released Wednesday morning, AWSummit announced it has set new dates for the postponed event, which is now scheduled for August 25-28 at the Hotel Alcor Mamaia, “a 4-star luxurious hotel on the beach of Mamaia within walking distance to the clubs and great facilities.”
“AWSummit has been monitoring the coronavirus/COVID-19 situation closely and ensuring the safety of all exhibitors and visitors to our event is our top priority,” AWSummit said in its statement. “After careful consideration, AWSummit made the difficult decision to postpone the event because of the recent developments in this situation.”
AWSummit said the hotel venue had to be changed because the original hotel was fully booked through the middle of September.
“AWSummit brings a big thank you to their sponsors and speakers for helping them make this decision easier,” said Roxana, AWSummit’s Event Director. “With their support and understanding, we are confident we will be able to deliver a successful AWSummit in August.”
Roxana added that AWSummit is “very happy to be able to secure the new dates and a new venue hotel in such a short time.”
“We are now looking forward to continuing the hard work, to make the greatest edition of AWSummit ever,” Roxana added. “We are working hard on updating our website, ticketing system, and hotel booking system to be in sync with our new venue and we will be following up with everyone that has already booked their rooms and tickets regarding the changes.”
AWSummit said planning for the event to run August 25-28 “continues now as normal,” while recognizing that the world must still be mindful of the spread of COVID-19.
“AWSummit keeps monitoring the COVID-19 situation and understands that we might not have seen the full scale and effect of the coronavirus/COVID-19 yet,” AWSummit said in its statement. “AWSummit will make it 100% risk-free and is offering all attendees and sponsors the guarantee that if AWSummit is not being held during this period (August 25-28) due to the longer effect of the coronavirus/COVID-19, all attendees and sponsors will get fully refunded tickets, hotel rooms and sponsorships.”
